Pink Is So Much More Than A Color!

I love Pink….not the color, but the performer. That doesn’t mean I don’t like the color pink, although I am not necessarily the biggest fan of the color. Not that I am saying that the color is offensive, because it’s not. Well it is if it’s overdone, like in the movie Legally Blonde. I’m also not a big fan of Pepto Bismol pink, that could almost be considered offensive. I also am not a big fan of automatically dressing little girls in pink, just because they are little girls. I have twin great nieces, and one of them is always wearing pink and they are so darn adorable that I don’t mind her wearing it. It’s also the family’s way of knowing which one is Noli and which one is Nora, so I really appreciate the pink then.

Anyways, back to the singer Pink, or P!nk. When she first started out we were supposed to spell it with the exclamation point, but I think that has gone away. But I love her enough that I’ll spell it however she wants me to, as long as she keeps putting out great songs.

I love pretty much all of her stuff. The first song I rememeber her from is of course Lady Marmalade from Moulin Rouge. She rocks it with Christian, Mya and Lil’ Kim. I really can’t think of a song of hers that I can’t respect. I know I’m probably way off base with this, but I think she’s kind of this generations answer to Stevie Nicks. Now I agree since we still have Stevie we don’t need another one, but I don’t have any problems having two gorgeously talented musicians with voices that just have that rasp and yet smoothness to it. Both have that delicious contralto that gets me every time.

Anyway here’s the reason I am posting about Pink today.

John Wayne 30th Annual Odyssey Ball

This picture is of Pink at an event this weekend. Looking all gorgeous and sexy as she is. Right? Nope, not according to some haters out there. They naturally had to go out on social media and start attacking her body size, because that above picture is obviously of an unattractive overweight woman. Yes that is ridiculous, and those people need to be told to shut up. Well guess what? They were told to shut up, but in a nice classy way by the nice and classy Pink! Here is what she had to say on her Twitter account:

“I can see that some of you are concerned about me from your comments about my weight. You’re referring to the pictures of me from last night’s cancer benefit that I attended to support my [dear] friend Dr. Maggie DiNome. She was given the Duke Award for her tireless efforts and stellar contributions to the eradication of cancer. But unfortunately, my weight seems much more important to some of you. While I admit that the dress didn’t photograph as well as it did in my kitchen, I will also admit that I felt very pretty. In fact, I feel beautiful. So, my good and concerned peoples, please don’t worry about [me]. I’m not worried about me. And I’m not worried about you either 🙂 … I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off. Thanks for your concern. Love, cheesecake.”

Now that is one hell of a classy way to say STFU!

God, I Love Pink!
